Deadman’s Basin Headgate

Deadman's Basin Headgate Replacement
& Diversion Wall
Harlowton, MT

Battle Ridge Builders contracted with the DNRC to do work on the Deadman's Basin Headgates and Diversion Wall. They demoed and replaced 222-ft of the diversion dam wall, diverted the Musselshell River, excavated and dewatered up to 17-ft below the river's surface and 11-ft below the water table. They had to maintain the dewater for 70 days while pouring in place 235 yards of concrete footers and walls. They fabricated steel components for walkways and handrails, and installed 5 new head gates along with 1850 yards of grouted riprap for fish passage.
