Deadman’s Basin Head gate Replacement & Diversion Wall – Harlowton, MT

Battle Ridge Builders contracted with the DNRC to do work on the Deadman’s Basin Headgates and Diversion Wall. They demoed and replaced 222′ of the diversion dam wall, diverted the Musselshell River, excavated and dewatered up to 17ft below the rivers surface and 11ft below the water table. They had to maintain this dewater for 70 days while pouring in place 235 yards of footers and walls [up to 17ft tall], they maintained erosion control, fabricated steel components for walkways and handrails, installed 5 head gates [6’x6′] with less than 2gpm leak rates. Installed 1850 yards of riprap ramp and grouted the entire structure for fish passage. Battle Ridge completed this project 10% ahead of schedule.
